RESEARCHERS and veterinary clinicians from the University of Liverpool have launched a research programme exploring horse owners’ understanding and experiences of equine health. The current study, funded and supported by the Animal Welfare Foundation (of the BVA), is inviting horse owners to participate in a questionnaire to share their views and experiences of equine health and disease with a particular focus on laminitis. All horse owners/carers are invited to take part; we aim to hear a wide range of views, regardless of their previous experience with laminitis. An online questionnaire has been developed to collect information on equine health management from horse owners. Even if the horse has never been unwell, we would like to hear from the owner.
